Are mushrooms part of Christmas? I bought a chocolate advent calender during the Thanksgiving break. And since I'm leaving tomorrow, the 19th, I figured I could eat the ones from the 20th, 21st, etc. So just now I ate the one for the 23rd.
And it was a MUSHROOM! I dont understand, can anyone explain this to me??

That is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. I am at a loss for why they would have a mushroom... fungus just never seemed like a Christmas thing to me.

actually advents calendars orginate in germany and mushrooms are part of traditional decoration there along with black peter and some other scary junk. this is based on my memory from germany class like 20 years ago so I could be wrong but that does not happen very often
