One of my favorite memories of derek was when we were in high school and grandpa dropped us off at school after seminary. we were walking onto campus, like every other day, and this girl runs up and starts walking in between us to shut me out. i just backed away and laughed because this DUMB girl thought i was hitting on derek. apparently she didnt know we were related.
another one of my favorite memories with derek was when we were much littler. i hope grandma doesnt read this but if she does its been so long she probably wont care. grandma made fish filets for dinner one time. and i really like fish so i heaped a bunch on my plate. come to find out they were DISGUSTING and i couldnt finish them all. derek had the same problem and grandma wouldnt let us leave the table til we finished our plates (clean plate club? anyone else remember that?) so geniously, i decide to grab as much as can fit in my hands and said i had to go to the bathroom. i went and flushed it all down the toilet and when i came back i just beamed at derek from across the table as he mouthed to me "i hate you." hahaha.

Clean plate club, I remember that moms hated it too because we had to watch you kids suffer & since it was grandma's house & grandma's food there wasn't much we could do except eat it for you if we got the chance;)
And people wonder why there's so much childhood obesity, "Clean Plate Club" that's why!!!
We don't have the clean plate club. But we do have the try everything club. I have a hard time with fish, I'll have to remember the rule about the clean plate club if it's ever on the menu at Grandma's!
Clean plate club was the lamest thing ever. I remember you telling me about that fish story when it happened. I also remember the story about the girl flirting with Derek and cutting in front of you as you guys walked onto campus. I also remember picking Derek up from Kindergarden... time flies got to make time to enjoy each day.
